The NASN is highly regarded in the sports nutrition and dietetics fields as a leader in sports nutrition license. All students are required to complete the NASN home study course prior to the date of the workshop to review knowledge of the topics that will be covered on the Certification exam. . Recommended study time: minimum 3 month (depending on prior experience and education.) In order to be certified as a licensing instructor through the National Association of Sports Nutrition the following criteria must be met:

1. An associate or baccalaureate degree in nutrition or equivalent science/health degree, a score of 90% or better on the Primary Sports Nutritionist Board exam or three year experience as a licensed sports nutritionist and certified health professional directly involved in nutritional counseling, health promotion or healthcare.

2. An advanced professional degree in a healthcare field that incorporates a four year degree with sufficient science and nutrition hours, a score of 90% or better on the Primary Sports Nutritionist Board exam or two year experience as a licensed sports nutritionist and certified health professional directly involved in nutritional counseling, health promotion or healthcare.
